Recap of Douds Charlet’s winning streak

As we already mentioned in a previous post our freerider Jonathan “Douds” Charlet snatched away the 2^nd place at this year’s Freeride World Tour first stop in Revelstroke, Canada. The second stop was in Chamonix, Douds his local town. We still don’t know whether it was the cheering of all his friends and family or the Imperium snowboard under his feet, but he killed the mountain and stole first place.

This is what the official FWT site had to say of his local conquest:

Rock solid in Revelstoke, Douds was again on the top of his game taking a creative line on the extreme lookers right of the face.  He was smooth and clean throughout, a textbook Freeride lesson for any youngsters with world tour ambitions.  "It's great to win at home in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.  I threw a front side 360 at the top and dropped four cliffs overall.  I tried to stay fast and clean and I think I achieved that."

Anto Brotto in Ero One films

One of our riders, Anto Brotto, started this season with great news. Finally it’s our time to share this big news with you guys. Anto “Le Poulpe” Brotto is one of the chosen riders for the upcoming 2012-2013 project of Ero One Films.

Ero One Films is a snowboarding movie production from Switzerland. Their mission is to make European snowboard films, filmed and directed, by snowboarders who love snowboarding. The Ero One crew already dropped four other bangers. These popular online sensations were named: Whats poppin, Stick em up, Voilà and La Casette. You can check ‘m out via the links below.

Magic Monday nice price snowboard packs

NEW Spring/Summer 2012 Skateboard collection

We know the snow is still fresh, but for all those who can't wait to go ride their local skatepark or have a warm session in the Barcelona streets, here's the Imperium spring / summer 2012 Skate collection.Three regular skateboards in four different sizes and with a medium concave are perfect skating street or transition. Discover the Totem, the Miss and the Elmiro which is designed by the famous Dutch street artist with the same name.

New for this year are the two cruiser boards. The Totem cruiser is a retro-shaped deck with a nice flat nose and a gentle kicktail, allowing poolskating, smooth cruising and other creative trickery. It's a super versatile and fun board.

Douds Charlet snatching 2nd on FWT

Looks like Douds has started 2012 off with a blast, snatching away a 2nd place at this year's Freeride World Tour first stop in Revelstoke, Canada. The resort is well-known for it's feather-light powder and engaging backcountry terrain, a perfect environment for our Chamonix-based French freerider. Once again his experience of big mountain riding has made the difference, leaving only Ralph Backstrom in front of him with a mere one point difference after their respective descents of the Mackenzie face. This is a perfect start of the FWT tour, having its next stops in Chamonix, Courmayeur, Roldal, Fieberbrunn and finally Verbier.

Rock On Snow after hours

Working for a snowboard company has its perks. Here's some quick footy of some fun rides we took during and after the Rock On Snowboard Tour test event a few weeks ago in Serre Chevalier. Fresh snow and nice weather blessed our season opener in the mountains and were very grateful for that. If you want to come and take a look at our boards, next stop will be La Clusaz for the Snow Avant Première (15-17 january). Hopefully some more video opportunities on the menu there. See you in the snow!

Anto Brotto and a bunch of friends decided to film a podcast about the new snowpark in Vars for Snowsurf. It looks like a dream come true for jibbers if you ask us! Antwerp Ski and Snowboard Railbattle awesomeness

The long awaited Antwerp Ski and Snowboard Railbattle finally took place in the crowded industrial halls of Antwerp's Park Spoor Noord. The venue used to be some kind of train repair shelter or at least something of that kind. For this occasion Threesixty Events amazed hundreds of spectators with a huge metal structure, real lowland fridge snow and 4 different rail features to hit in the most creative ways. And man, were Yannick's crew's efforts rewarded! We saw a few of the craziest railcombo's ever. Some stuff would even make JP Walker and Jeremy Jones cry for their mommies.

Anyways, with the fair share of Dutchies showing up, the contest truly became a battle of the lowlands. As co-sponsors we gathered a part of our own troops, sending young Jens Rummens and French rail-surgeon Anto Brotto to the top of the scaffolding. They fought for what they were worth but this time they were overpowered by some gnarly foreign fridge kids.
