What we are made of.
Technical Information
Forest Stewardship Council
Forests provide us with wood for our boards with clean water, fresh air and they even help combat global warming. They also provide food, medicine and important natural resources, such as timber and paper. If managed responsibly, forests and plantation benefit people and the global community at large.
The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value.
WDT Hybrid Core
Wood Derivative Technology (WDT), is a hybrid composite core that is a mixture of 100% Spruce trees combined with a German engineered mixture of synthetic materials. Its molecular properties are identical to wood, but the core is 22% lighter in weight and is guaranteed to keep board memory and will not pack out like typical all-wood cores. Plus it is environmentally friendly.
Traditional camber
The tip and tail of a Traditional Cambered board will curve downward from the center, lifting the center of the board up off the ground slightly. to maintain better edge contact as more pressure is applied to the tip and tail, allowing the board tighter, better controlled turns and more pop on big jumps.
Reverse camber or V-rocker
The RC is flat between the bindings, with an upward curve from front binding to tip and rear binding to tail. Reversed Camber board makes the board better for pressing boxes, rails and jibs tail. One key advantage to reverse camber is flotation. With the nose and tail curved up slightly instead of down, a snowboard floats more smoothly over powder, like a boat on water.
Kevlar
The legendary strength and light weight of Kevlar® brand fiber are only the starting point. Its natural toughness allows to stand up to repeated abuse. Kevlar® helps minimizes vibration transfer and can sustain deformation without breaking. It is safer and more reliable in high-impact situations. Imperivm Snowboards use Kevlar® as a construction material to increase board stability, reduce vibrations on rough terrain and keep weight down, resulting in a super-reactive and long-lasting riding experience.
Carbon
The inclusion of carbon in our snowboards increases pop and longitudinal snap. The increased strength results in a more durable board with that ollies higher and handles bigger landings.
